Vainglorious is to give a picture of an individual’s struggle for self-actualization; love seems a banal term, used in circumstances the book describes. Yet, I try to deal with the characters honestly, and to show that all people of whatever race they hail from are basically the same. I have tried to deal with the characters honestly and to portray the struggles that women endure in order to find happiness whatever their ages.

Marnie is a woman of a certain age who is disappointed at the way her life has turned out. Trapped in an abusive marriage for years only her own strength of character allows her to break free. She emerges emotionally scarred to forge a new successful life for herself as a PA for the distinguished Desmond Lang. He cherishes an unspoken regard for her though is unable to help her becoming embroiled with an enigmatic Dutchman who seems to be certain to break her heart afresh.

Her work in real estate means travels to the Continent and particularly in Spain in a beautiful apartment complex. There she meets an assortment of people of all races who, like her, are trying to succeed in life against difficult odds. She is not allowed peace of mind to do this as the ruthless Dutchman tracks her down even here.

Marnie is a passionate woman with an unquenchable lust for life and works out her own solutions against this background of intrigue and violent death. Ultimately she faces an important choice of her own.

However, the purpose is to show that, beneath the surface of the idyllic surroundings, all is not what it seems. There are ulterior motives and jealousies seething below the calm, which leads to lives being irrevocably disrupted. The struggle to rebuild lives takes up a large part of the text. Hope is the reader will be interested enough to follow the journeys.

Writing is a way of life for her when she sees a blank sheet of paper she always want to cover it her ideas for stories of all types. To her, there is something magical about pens and paper, particularly fountain pens. her aim is always to write a thousand words a day and have a vague sense of guilt if she does not accomplished this. she use a lap-top for work most of the time now. The highlight of her career was to attend college for a Creative Writing course as a mature student and receive instruction at Glamorgan University from the many famous writers there was inspirational. She spend some time in Spain each year and have portrayed something of the flavour of life under the hot sun in Vainglorious. Travel to her is quite addictive and I have been lucky enough to visit many places in Europe in her lifetime. Otherwise, my writing is done in the milder climate of her home in Wales.
